Monroe and Macon Stores Come Alive!!

image

Spinach & Ricotta Raviolis covered with Bolognese

Nathan Karstedt and Steve Daily, the owners/operators of the Monroe Mirko Pasta are to be commended for flying out of the blocks with their new store! They have been open only a couple of weeks, and the community is flocking to their great location. Located off Hwy 78 & the Conyers/Hwy 138 Exit, next to Chic-Fil-A and SunTrust, it is convenient and fast. Drop by and see Nathan…their liquor license is soon to come!!

TJ Heath and Jimmy Goolsby opened their doors to an awesome Macon crowd on Saturday, August 28. It’s early in the game, but the word is HOT that the customers love the food, the people and the service! We couldn’t be happier that TJ and Jimmy found a great operator, Matt Lane, who has a vast amount of restaurant experience. We know this location is going to be a hot spot in town! They are located off I-75 & Bass Road, right across from the entrance to the Bass Pro Shop.

Monroe is tightly packed and in the evening extremely bright. Their manager will not get blinds or tinted windows. Service is not good and we do not feel welcome.

I tried Mirko for the first time in Watkinsville last year and was thrilled that they decided to open a store in Macon. I have not been disappointed!! The food is great!!

I had lunch at the Macon location today. It was wonderful! Food and service were both excellent! I would really like to see some nutrition information on the website.

It might help to suggest which pastas go well with which sauce

Thanks for that last suggestion! We've heard that before, so at the store level, we'll have pairing suggestions...Might do the same on the website! 'Appreciate the comments!

I would just like to take a moment to say that my husband took me out for Valentine's Day to Mirko Pasta in Monroe and it far exceeded my expectations. I have visited on several occasions, but this night was special. I felt very comfortable with the dim lights and tablecloths and candles on each table. I was amazed at how this casual atmosphere suddenly reformed into fine dining. The table side service that we received was wonderful. Although the restaurant was packed beyond capacity, The staff was spectacular at making us feel welcome and attended to. Monroe welcomes Mirko!

I want to say in response to those who complained about the service n Monroe: I have been to the monroe location many of times, and I am a loyal customer there because they do Italian food the right way! But more importantly, the service is phenominal. And I could tell that the chefs that evening were happy to prepare our meal. They seemed to love and truly enjoy their jobs as chefs. I will continue to return in the years to come. The Monroe store is managed very well. I am impressed!

I would love to see some nutritional information - the staff at Monroe have always been helpful in suggesting items that they think are the lowest calorie options, but I'd like to know how many calories are actually in these options!

Would appreciate better service in the Macon restaurant (I usually have to get up and get something that is not on the table that should be (like olive oil, etc.), and no bugs crawling in the Caesars salad. Maybe washing it first would be good. Also, prefer to order from the table rather than walking in and ordering at the door. Interesting, that the fettuccini looks as wide as most parpardelle.

Would appreciate having nutrition information available upon request. Pasta and sauce can vary so much - it would be nice to know when I am indulging and when I am being moderately healthy.
